What does the promoted behavioral change consist of?
The project aims to foster citizens’ awareness of their energy and environmental impact and increase awareness of their daily energy choices.
What are the main features of the tools designed/implemented to promote behavioral change and how have they been tested?
Where energy communities already exist the platform will be directly used to promote user empowerment and where communities are in the process of being created, the platform will be used to educate and inform the citizens.
What results have been achieved? What are the potentials and obstacles?
The Readiness Level Indicator Tool was developed to help stakeholders define the benefits of adopting peer-to-peer energy sharing strategies and increasing energy flexibility in already defined energy communities. This tool allows them to determine the level of “readiness” of the community and understand what requirements are needed for these strategies to be successfully adopted.
The NRG2peers Advisory App was developed as an online platform where people involved in existing or potential energy community projects can find useful references, inspiration and interact with each other to exchange experiences.
Further outcomes of the project are “national roadmaps”, i.e. action plans collecting plausible pathways for EU member states in the transition towards sustainable, resilient and citizen-centred energy systems, driven by peer-to-peer energy community projects.
